limited vacancies for HSC; you will need to ring now.

Essentially there are limited vacancies for year 11 and 12 if they wish to come on board in Term 4.

Some year 12's will obviously finish and already a number of year 11's who are going into year 12 have started in the last few weeks. I am nearly full for the ensuing year 12 course.

Thus I humbly suggest you ring and book very soon.

Once I start I can move through the year 12 English course as fast as the student is able to digest what is involved!

Simple but savvy hints & strategies for post 2010 English Trials

A very brief summary of the very best strategies to take now for English once you have your trials back.

1) The trials are meant to be trials: Demanding, rigorous and well they are a trial!
2) So once they are back it’s time to take stock.

Hint 1 Focus on the second paper. It is harder and is worth 60% in the final exam.
Hint 2 After you have reviewed and re worked your second paper essays undertake timed essays and get them marked (if at all possible) by two different markers.

Help with Advanced English

Advanced English is never a walk in the park. However I was reminded
of this undeniable fact talking to a colleague yesterday and we agreed it was
more like a 2 and a half unit subject than a 2 unit. This is backed up by the

Tutor have more worries about Advanced English than Extension. Really nothing
new about that here!

One Big Tip for the Trials

Check with your school and see whether the second trial paper is worth 50% or 60%.

Schools vary. Yet it is relevant to your strategy in HSC English and how you spread your effort.

And here is another hands on tip:

English Mastery July holidays Mock Exams secret code 5 (Thursday May 13 2010)

This suggestion is close to the most important preparation students can take on board.

In the July School Holidays we are running mock exams so students can sit the first paper under exam conditions and have it marked just as it would be in the exams but prior to their trials.

That makes absolute sense. It's the most proactive mark grabbing action you can take!
