Little Tip 4 HSC English Exam Comparative Module
The comparative module is arguably the most challenging module in the entire HSC English course.
If there were one tip and one tip only that I could give for this unit it is….. at all costs know both texts well and be able to focus on the techniques each writer uses to embrace the concept that they explore. For example in Brave New World and Blade Runner we want to know HOW these writers deal with the concept of ‘In The Wild.’ Techniques and their effect upon the responder are everything!
Little Tip 3: Want to write a good Journeys Essay?
Most year 12's will be undertaking a synthesis task on Journeys in the imminent half yearlies.
Tip the balance in your favour. Make simple comments about how each text is similar or different from the other.
Text A makes a very different point around imaginative jouney in conveying the idea that.............
Or Text B echoes the ideas focussed upon in text A by referring to the surreal...... and how fragmented the physical journey can be.

small tips BIG MARKS 1: HSC Comprehension Exam
Comprehension is worth a third of the final first paper for English (apart from school based assessment during the year.)
Small Tip: Practice written responses to the last 2 questions in past papers. These questions decide your mark for the comprehension section far more than any others. The pattern is the same every year!
Get your teacher or Tutor to mark them and make sure you get clear feedback.Practice makes perfect. These questions are hard. Expect to get less than full marks and work your way up! Good luck!

Brilliant Results for HSC English Mastery Students of 2006!
Dear Parents and Students,
year 11 & 12 enrollments now for 2006/2007 HSC
It is that time of the year again when year 12 students are 'sandwiched' between the trials and the end of year exams.
Much effort is being put in to ensure worthwhile results in the final test beginning on Friday 20 October 2006 for English students.
If you are interested, now is the time to enrol for year 12 tuition. Just under half of all vacancies have already been filled for term 4 so it would be respectfully advised to act sooner rather than later.
