Dear Parents and Year 12 Students

Examinations begin on October 17. English Advanced & English Standard both occur on that day. On Thursday 20 October the second paper occurs. English Extension 1 exam is on Monday 31 October.

Term 3 2005 at English Mastery finishes on Saturday 24 September.

My office will be closed for a short break from Sunday 25 September to Wednesday 5 October.

In order to accommodate year 12 final revisions needs HSC Intensive Revision lessons will be available for students. These lessons will focus very specifically on essay writing under exam conditions and clarifying what is expected in this context. I will be marking these essays in the style that I mark as an HSC Marker.

Feedback will be available to students on what they need to do to gain optimum marks in all six sections of the two exams. For those who wish to avail themselves of this feedback this is a valuable opportunity to maximise your chance of getting the very best result of which you are capable in English.

Extra "intensive lessons" will be available in the second week of the holidays on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 October. Lessons will also be available in the week prior to the exams You will need to book and pay for your final "intensive" lessons by Friday 23 September.

Places are limited as year 12 2006 students and parents are already securing places for English Tuition. I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all those students who have put so much into their work and wish students the very best of outcomes in their final "onslaught" in their HSC. Thanks also to the many parents who have been quietly and patiently supporting and encouraging their children through the HSC. Your efforts also make a huge difference and your praises need to be sung! :-)
