Term 2 Newsletter 25 June 2006
Dear Parents & Students
English Mastery offers the highest calibre service facilitating the very best UAI's. Please feel free to view the "track record" of previous years.
Fees are currently $120.00 per hour and commensurate with a sustained rigorous pursuit of excellence.
Congratulations and acknowledgement to a significant number of year 11 and 12 students who have produced results of outstanding calibre, specifically marks ranging between 90 and up to and including 100% for assessment tasks! It is never anything less than a very rewarding and particularly fulfilling experience when I am told of these results.
In order to ease time-consuming administrative burdens English Mastery is converting to term fees for all students from the beginning of Term 3, 2006. Fees for Term 3 are due in week 8 of Term 2. Currently some students pay by the term and others pay by ‘block.’ The vast majority of students by far are longer-term students who have a need to prepare for their HSC. The portion of unused fees is fully refundable. However 4 weeks notice needs to be given of an intention to cease tuition.
Third, a reminder that 48 hours notice needs to be given if unable to attend a lesson or a lesson fee is applicable. However students are expected to attend all lessons as part of a program that facilitates a rigorous pursuit of excellence in their English results.
Marking and assessment is an issue worthy of mention. Please allow up to a three-day turn around period for a close scrutiny of assessment task drafts. While I will endeavour to offer a reasonably prompt response it is not always possible during peak periods. Thus if there is an assessment task “due in” avoid leaving it to the last minute to send it to me. It could jeopardise the quality of the attention that it needs to be given, on my part, therefore affecting your marks. That is something I do not like seeing happen. It is a crucial time management issue for students to put in order.
This is the busiest time of the year for the HSC. Holiday classes will be available over Term 2 holidays bearing in mind the HSC Trials occur early in Term 3 followed by a final bout of preparation before the examinations. Students are strongly advised to attempt practice essays, get them marked and even double marked.

This is definitely the time to work! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries regarding your child’s progress and/or the above newsletter.
All the best for the remainder of Term 2 and a refreshing and productive break.
Warm Regards
