A Secret but Magic Solution for Creative Assessments including year 12!
Simple images give your writing 3 vital levers.
1) Power
2) Depth
3) Momentum to write more! :)
What people are drawn by are not clever intellectual statements, but sensory experiences. Use the “cartwheel approach” in your composition. It’s simple and can be done by anyone, anwhere anyhow.
Choose a central character……………say James
Write 1 simple observation, James was waiting at the bus stop.
Then describe in turn what he saw, heard, felt (as in physical touch,) tasted and smelt.
Make it up as you go using one sense and then moving to the next.

HSC Test Essay Writing Hints
Help with Essay Writing and Assessment Tasks for year 12
You won’t get around the fact that numerous practice essays must be attempted and with some humility. :)
1) Learn your information first. It takes some time but there is no way around it.
2) Tackle test essays by writing them in 40 minutes and having them marked if possible by more than one person. Take the most useful comments "on board."
3) Don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t all come together immediately. It’s a learned skill.
All the Best

The Most Creative Creative Writing Journey's Tip Ever
This is the most important thing I can tell you about creative writing for the Journey's HSC Exam.
It doesn’t matter what you write about!!!!!!!!
What matters is you heavily "morph" it, mould it, synthesise it, make it fit, put a square peg in a round hole.
That’s all the Board of Studies wants.
We already know 85% of students “learn” their creative writing piece for the Journey’s exam.
This is the secret. Learn how to morph your creative writing and it’s like money in the bank accruing interest when the stock market is diving.
