These are the 2010 HSC results from a cohort of 28 students who were tutored in English Advanced and Extension 1 and 2 at English Mastery on a 1:1 basis here in Gordon

A) 12 of 28 students attained a place in the all rounder's section of their respective schools.

B) 16 students out of 28 attained an ATAR of 97.6 or higher.

C) 6 students gained OVER 99.65 in their aggregate scores.

D) 8 students were over 91.3 while 3 were over 86.2.

 

The students who came fitted into 3 main categories:

1) Those who were doing well in Maths and Science but were concerned about English marring an otherwise stellar ATAR.

2) Students who were competent with English but wanted to take their skills to the highest level possible.

3)Finally those students who had great potential with English but found an area of concern such as essay writing, assessment tasks, exam preparation, textual analysis, or semantic issues were threatening otherwise good marks.

 

Workshops focusing upon areas of the paper are a perfect way of getting on top before the year begins in earnest.

There are a small number of workshops being run between now and the end of the holidays that assist students in the area of need of THEIR choice.
