English Mastery Newsletter November 2006
Dear Parents and Students
Although the end of the academic year is approaching English Mastery will be facilitating holiday and end of year intensives and will be open right through Christmas, but closed later in January for holidays.
Bookings are advised for Holiday Intensives.
Both 4 unit English students and 4 unit Maths students attend English Mastery. These students in particular, for quite diverse reasons, need to get ahead by using the December/January period as a fulcrum to ease pressure later in the year.

Newsletter 2 Term 1 2006
27 March 2006
Dear Parents
This is a brief end of term newsletter. There are several pertinent points of which I wish to ensure you are aware.
1) Indisputably a large number of students have received outstanding results in term 1 2006, especially those in year 12. Congratulations to those students as well as their supportive families! I know we can expect this trend to continue if commitment is sustained.
2) High marks are nearly always the result of hard work balanced with self-care. They rarely materialise through luck! Last year’s top results speak for themselves. I know the UAI of 99.9 came through hard work NOT genius!

Newsletter 1 February 13 2006
Welcome students and their families to the academic year of 2006. Congratulations to 2005 students. UAIS ranged from 99.9, and 98.1, through to a large number of students gaining band 6 results and thus realizing their dreams!
The results were a heart-warming experience. Many students were able to get the marks they wanted. One student chose, (among other offers) a 7-year honours scholarship to ANU to complete a combined law/arts degree.
Congratulations HSC Students of 2005: Sally, 99.9; David 98.1; Simon 98.0 + many other Band 6 Results!
Congratulations English Mastery Students! Your results are a testament to your hard work, dedication and commitment when the pressure has been unrelenting. I wish to acknowledge you all for your efforts in the HSC course of 2005.
While we have achieved many Band 6 results and many satisfied students who were delighted with their overall UAI the following students are worthy of specific acclaim.
Sally-Anne Ivimey UAI 99.9
(Also top in the state for German Continuers and Dux of Ravenswood School for Girls for 2005. Special congratulations Sally-Anne You are a model for others to see what hard work can achieve. And in Sally’s case it is a most inspiring model.)
David Strong UAI 98.1
Simon UAI 98.0
Shelley UAI 97.9

Dear Parents and Students
My office will be closing on 23 December and reopening 27 December. While some of you may be taking well earned holidays past experience has shown there is growing demand from students who want to get ahead and deal with concerns, put them to rest and return to school knowing they are “on top of their game.”
Welcome to all new students and congratulations to those students who have completed studies for 2005. There has been impressive effort from the HSC students of 2005 and we look forward to exceptional results.
English Mastery will be operating in January offering existing and other students HSC Intensives. For existing students it allows them to get ahead with the curriculum rather than creating unnecessary stress later in the year.
It will involve one or more sessions of study skills/essay writing/time management and 4 sessions covering 4 out of the 6 parts of the HSC final exam. Three sections of the first paper will be focussed upon and one section from the second part of the paper. It is highly recommended that students consider this offer as it is directly related to their final exams and could offer them the head start they need.
Places are limited as 1:1 tuition is offered thus the vacancies fill up fast. In order to secure a place it will be necessary for payment to occur by the final week of Term 4 2005.
English Mastery continues to do what it does best; it allows students to obtain high marks in their endeavours in English and continues to offer students specific analysis of texts under study.
Reminder: Students are required to attend all sessions as a part of their commitment to their individual program. ***Missed lessons :Individual missed lessons cannot be made up during term time. It may be possible at the discretion of English Mastery for a place to be made available at a group intensive during holiday time.
